Appliance Installation

Your new oven came with a plug.
That doesn't make it plug-and-play.

Ovens, induction and ceramic cooktops, rangehoods and dishwashers connected properly — on a circuit that can carry them, by someone licensed to do it, so the warranty stands up.

Warranty
Most appliance warranties require installation by a licensed electrician — DIY connection can void it entirely

What's Involved

What we install

Supplied by you or by the retailer — we handle the connection side.

O

Ovens and wall ovens

Hard-wired or plug-in, with the circuit checked to make sure it can actually carry the load before we energise anything.

C

Induction and ceramic cooktops

Induction in particular often needs a dedicated circuit. Plenty of kitchens don't have one until we run it.

R

Rangehoods

Wired, mounted and tested, including running a new point where the old hood was hard-wired into something questionable.

D

Dishwashers and laundry appliances

New points where you need them, plus checking the existing circuit isn't already carrying too much.

The Process

How the job runs

1

Send us the model number

The spec sheet tells us the load and whether it needs a dedicated circuit — before delivery day, ideally.

2

Check the existing circuit

We confirm the cable size and protection can handle the new appliance. Modern induction cooktops draw a lot more than what they're replacing.

3

Install and connect

Appliance connected, isolation switch fitted where required, everything secured properly.

4

Test and hand over

Powered up, tested, and left clean. Paperwork provided if your warranty needs proof of licensed installation.

Common Questions

The stuff people ask us

Can't I just plug the oven in myself?

If it comes with a fitted plug and there's a suitable dedicated outlet already there, sometimes. But hard-wired appliances legally require a licensed electrician in Queensland, and most manufacturers require licensed installation for the warranty to remain valid.

Does an induction cooktop need special wiring?

Usually yes. Induction cooktops typically draw considerably more current than the gas or ceramic unit they replace, and often need a dedicated circuit run from the switchboard. Worth checking before you buy, not after it's delivered.

Can you install on the same day it's delivered?

Often, if we know the model in advance and the circuit is already suitable. If new wiring is needed, we'd rather do that beforehand so delivery day is straightforward.

Do you remove the old appliance?

We'll disconnect and move it out of the way. Removal from the property can be arranged — just mention it when you book.

What if my kitchen circuit isn't up to it?

We'll tell you before we start, quote the additional work separately, and you decide. What we won't do is connect an appliance to a circuit that can't carry it.
