The terms that apply when you get a quote from us, book a job, or use this website. Plain-English, but binding — please give it a read.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the supply of electrical services by Wires Guy Electrical Pty Ltd ("Wires Guy Electrical", "we", "us", "our") to any person or business ("you", "the client") who requests a quote, books a job, or otherwise engages our services, as well as your use of this website. By requesting a quote, confirming a booking, or allowing us to carry out work at your property, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By contacting us for a quote, confirming a booking (verbally, by text, by email, or through this website), or allowing us to carry out work at your property, you accept these Terms in full. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't book a job or use this website — get in touch and we'll talk it through.
Quotes are free and come with no obligation. Unless we've agreed otherwise in writing, quotes:
If extra work turns up on site, we'll let you know the cost before we proceed wherever we reasonably can.
Booking times are estimates. We do our best to arrive within the agreed window, but delays can happen — a prior job running over, traffic, parts availability, weather. We'll call if we expect to be significantly late.
You're responsible for safe, reasonable access to the property and the work area — a working power and water supply where needed, clear access to the switchboard, roof space or meter box, and pets under control during the visit. If we can't safely access the site or complete the job as a result, a call-out or return-visit fee may apply.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Plans change — just give us as much notice as you can. Where we've already allocated time, materials or turned away other work for your job and reasonable notice (at least 24 hours) isn't given, a reasonable cancellation or call-out fee may apply.
We stand behind our work. Unless we've agreed a different period in writing, our workmanship is guaranteed for life against defects arising from that workmanship, for as long as you own the property. This doesn't cover:
All regulated electrical work is carried out in line with the Electrical Safety Act 2002 (Qld) and its regulations, and a Certificate of Compliance / Electrical Safety Certificate is issued where the law requires one. Copies go to you and, where required (smoke alarm compliance for rentals, for example), are lodged as needed. Keeping hold of these records — including for any future sale or lease of the property — is your responsibility.
Where we're engaged by a property manager or agency on behalf of a landlord, these Terms apply to the engaging party (the agency), who is responsible for paying invoices unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. Job requests, tenant access arrangements and any special instructions should be confirmed in writing (email or your property management system) before we book the job in. We'll invoice back to the agency/office as arranged.
To the maximum extent the law allows, our liability for any loss or damage arising from our services is limited to the cost of re-supplying the relevant work. Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that can't lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or the Electrical Safety Act 2002 (Qld). We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for pre-existing faults or damage that our work didn't cause.

We only collect the personal information needed to quote, book, carry out and invoice your job — things like your name, address, phone number and email. We don't sell your information, and we handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Questions about how your information is used? These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and both parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Queensland courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The current version always lives on this page. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
